Science Inductions and Translation

We understand the challenges trying to explain complicated science to non-technical audiences. The use of graphs and scientific jargon can often lead to confusion quickly followed by a lack of engagement. At Science Simplified, we specialise in translating complex science into simple layman’s language. We present this in a way to engage and capture the imagination of a wide variety of audiences. Some of these audiences are shown below.

Our basic 101 induction modules use non-confidential science facts, based on published academic literature. We do not use misleading information found on the Internet. Our material is presented using images and short simple explanations, accompanied, where possible, by analogies or demonstrations. To encourage more interaction with the audience, some of these facts can be presented in a simple quiz format. We have found that this dramatically increases audience interest and participation.

For our induction modules, either a script can be provided or, Science Simplified can present the module virtually or, where possible, in person. If required, we can create bespoke modules for any specific area of science or recreate your induction modules in a more engaging format.

Our expertise in science translation also enables us to work directly with marketing partners and advertising agencies to help create impactful claims from the underlying science.
